The continuing development of digital media technology will negatively affect the media institutions, if the institutions do not adapt to the new consumption of media. In this new era, digital media is being used and is more common for people to spend time on. Most of the public now uses digital media more often than they do with other forms. In other words, print media is being replaced by digital media more rapidly. As a result, media institutions need to find other methods to be able to adapt to these changes and not fall behind. Digital media is being consumed now more than ever and if media institutions were to convert to these new methods, then they would most likely be able to thrive from it.
